Sherri Parker has been involved with horses for most of her life and although carriage driving is Sherri's passion, she is involved in all aspects of the horse community. Sherri knows horse farms in Citrus County, especially Pine Ridge Estates and can guide you through the process of choosing the right amenities for your ideal horse friendly home. As a horse enthusiast Sherri also holds horse driving clinics at her farm and is a member of the American Driving Society and Florida Whips, Inc. The Florida Whips is a statewide equine driving organization offering clinics, pleasure drives, horse competitions, picnics and opportunities to develop and enjoy your horse driving skills.

The Citrus County Florida area is still largely undeveloped, characterized by wide open rolling hills and pastures, sprinkled with ancient oak trees and blanketed with lush grazing grass. The eastern side of Citrus County is especially suited for horse farms and horse ranches.

From Pine Ridge Estates in Beverly Hills to Lecanto Florida and Inverness Florida and onto Floral City there are many horse farms and horse ranches laid out like quilt work across the countryside. The nearby Withlacoochee State Forest also has miles of beautiful trails, easily accessible by horse trailer.

Pine Ridge Estates was designed as an equestrian community with over 28 miles of horseback riding trails throughout the community. The lots range from 1 acre to 20 acres. Most homeowners that keep horses here only stable a few.

Lecanto and Inverness support larger private tracks of land ranging up to hundreds of acres for horse farms and horse ranches supporting scores of thoroughbreds. Many of these large tracks of acreage are available for sale today.

Floral City Florida horse farms are also abundant. Ranch style homes and farm houses set on large acreage of majestic rolling hills and field grass are the perfect setting for many horse farms and horse ranches today.

The first horse farm in this area of West Central Florida was in nearby Ocala Florida and belonged to Carl G. Rose, which is now occupied by the Paddock Mall and Central Florida Community College.

In the 1950's, a horse bred at that farm named “Needles” became the first triple crown winner ever from Florida.

This win and the critical acclaim that followed it allowed the credibility of local horse farms to grow, and more horse farms such as the famous Ocala Stud were established.

Ocala Stud quickly became the nations leading commercial horse breeding farm. This area is now considered the equestrian capitol of the United States and has over 1,200 horse farms.

If you already have horses and are looking to relocate or maybe you are finally ready to trade in your life in the big city for your dream of owning a horse, horse farm, or horse ranch in Citrus County Florida, then contact Sherri Parker today to get information of horse farm real estate straight from the horse's mouth.
